This book was an enjoyable read, but it also has yielded incredible results for me RIGHT AWAY! I am a reiki master, and I found a gorgeous 2.5 acre property in Green Valley, CA outside of LA proper I wanted to convince my husband to purchase for a summer home (we live in Scottsdale, AZ).When we visited the home the first time, the realtor explained there were a number of items still in the home which belonged to the deceased couple who had owned it. One of them was the painting pictured whic Had i instantly recognized as having been seen before. When I was a young child, my paternal grandmother had that very painting displayed behind her living room sofa. "That couldn't be," exclaimed the realtor, "See there, she signed her name to it. Connie Tillman."Disappointed, I considered that perhaps I was mistaken. Later that evening, I sent a photo of the painting to my brother. He confirmed that he also recognized it as the same painting Grandma had loved and displayed.After our offer on the home was accepted, we returned to it for the inspection yesterday. There were many things wrong with the house, and my husband was ready to cancel the whole deal. I knew having this painting in the home was a sign to me that this was to be our house. Incredibly, after sitting in the living room, asking the universe for a sign for my husband to show HIM this was IN FACT to be OUR house and saying a few of the words of power in the book and looking at the sigils, I was guided to return to the painting, and turn it around! Sure enough, there was an article attached to the back which showed she had copied a famous painting. It had the title as well as a description of the characters, the story/message, etc. The sign for my husband? Well, this article was written in 04/1997 by a man named DAVID STEWART which happens to be my husband's name!!!!!!After that, he was convinced except that we could not find a contractor willing to travel to Green Valley in time to give us a bid on the necessary repairs by our deadline next Tuesday. I used the creativity sigil. For the first time in my life, I can actually see pictures to paint in my mind. The lost or hidden sigil I used to find a bolt I lost while working on a vehicle. This is definitely a win win book everybody needs in their house.

I bought a kindle version and right away read almost whole book, while trying to familiarize with sigils and pronunciations. During the process and at certain times I felt a little bit weird but that's all. Next day in the morning I tried a number of words/sigils combinations and gave it several hours but nothing happened so I assumed that I basically wasted seven bucks which is not the first time, and it is not a big deal. To be honest, I didn't expect for some big miracle to happen in just few hours but I expected that slight pleasurable magical feeling which I usually have when magic is real and something magical is about to happen (now or sometimes in the future).But then, that same day (evening hours) I did a short ritual with angel Ravchiel (from some other source) felt almost nothing, and went out for a walk. During the walk, I noticed few waves of negative thoughts bothering me and decided to give it another try and use "Stop thinking negative thoughts" words of power. So basically I was walking and at the same time looking at sigil at my phone screen, while whispering the words of power. It took me less then 20 seconds and then suddenly, I felt slightly pleasurable feeling in my heart chakra, which during next two hours turned to full blown ecstasy experience which I felt in my whole body.I can't really tell what exactly triggered such an experience, but now I'm sure I didn't waste money on this book. Not at all!

The Sigils in this book differ significantly with those found in the Gallery of Magic, but the book carries interesting information nevertheless. I like the book and have used it successfully to improve aspects of my life. I can't explain it rationally, but it works. The information is contemporary and ancient. As a new comer to the information it would be helpful for a book expanding in depth the history of the wisdom it offers, i.e., where the information comes from in a historic context. It origins, Also helpful would be citations from ancient manuscripts. Who originally used this information and how it developed and evolved in years past. The author notes Jesus was the first one to use the information and hints at other historic contexts. It would be helpful to have a book entirely on the information and its historic roots and routes through history. My sense is, although I cannot confirm this, is that the information holds its origins in WIccan Religions and its forerunners. I am not certain this is accurate or true but the Brand Books seem to mirror Jewish Mysticism and the Kabballah. Either way - regardless of its history - the book delivers.

This was a very good read, something that I will utilize and use in just about any of every occasion.The words of Power and sigil used for anger or to help calm down worked pretty much immensely.One thing that has continually helped me is to use the words of Power slowly and even mentally, think and visualize the sigil in your minds eye, it will help materialize your desired effect.Embrosewyn is a fantastic author, this book will help you with pretty much anything you are struggling with. I love this book and wish everyone had access to it to help with whatever is challenging for them. I highly recommend this book for everyone, and be open minded with what you are learning.

This book is packed full of powerful, life changing information that can literally transform each and every day for the better. I have personally used several of the sigils with their corresponding Words of Power with startling results, often times daily. A must read for anyone looking to empower themselves to positively change their life!

In the world of online marketing there are a lot of self proclaimed gurus and egotists, many of whom talk a good game but whose content is a tad thin. Then, at the other end of the scale, there are the true marketing stars, one of who is Ravi Jayagopal.In the Podcast Promotion Report, Ravi takes you step by step and walks you through all the stuff that no one else tells you about. The level of detail Ravi goes into is astonishing. While many of the elements might sound counterintuitive (the point about not promoting your podcast on social media for up to three days after you publish it had me scratching my head), when Ravi explains his reasons for zigging when everyone else is zagging, suddenly everything makes perfect sense.Likewise his points about ROI and that success is as much about doing less of something as it is about doing more of something: all really simple, straightforward stuff, but these are the viewpoints based on years of experience and in the trenches testing, tracking, tweaking, and adjusting that few other people tell you about.In full disclosure, while Ravi was kind enough to allow me access to an advance copy of this book, that point alone dis not sway my opinions of his efforts. As I've said, I've been a follower of Ravi for some time and in a marketplace that at times is overrun with advice from people who may be less than on the up and up, Ravi is the real deal.His advice is solid, sound, practical, and honest.His approach is methodical, informative, and detailed.And his experience from 20 years of hard work and attention to detail in the marketing trenches really comes through.You don't get to be a consistent presence in the world of Internet marketing by not showing up, and that's exactly what Ravi's done, year after year since the late 1990s. He's one of the most well-respected online entrepreneurs you could hope to connect with, and his advice in the Podcast Promotion Report won't let you down.I've been reviewing books on Amazon since the early 2000s; I'm a stickler for detail and I'm hard to impress. This is a review of Ravi Jayagopal's 56-page e-book, "How to Promote Your Podcast, Reach New Listeners, Build Your Audience and Find Your1000 True Fans." In the pursuit of full disclosure, I declare that Ravi offered me a free copy of version 1.2 of his e-book, dated January 10, 2018, on the condition that I write a review within one week of receiving it. Why would I do this if the book is available for only $0.99 on Amazon? Well, you will know the reason if you possess an average level of astuteness and you read the book. Another cogent question is, why would Ravi want me to do a review. He does not know me or my areas of expertise if any exist. I suggest that he may find value in just increasing the number of reviews that the book gets. Maybe that raises its SEO rating.Apparently, the book is a work in progress. I say this because version 1.0 came out on December 6, 2017, to be followed by version 1.1 dated December 12, 2017. That's a pretty fast turnaround for three editions. Is Ravi correcting errata or is there something more substantive to the process. I don't know. In any case, the reason I took Ravi up on his offer was because I am interested in getting involved in podcasting. I figured that in doing my due diligence before entering that world, this might be a good book to read.I have not listened to it yet, but Ravi has a podcast at SubscribeMe.fm, where he no doubt plugs his other products. He is a co-founder and co-developer of DigitalAccessPass.com, a membership plug-in and marketing automation platform for WordPress. He is also the creator of CoolCastPlayer.com. In addition, he runs a site called PodcastingConfessions.com and provides online courses at SubscribeMe.fm/book.Ravi says that the one biggest issue with podcasting right now is trying to figure out how to determine return on investment (ROI). He attributes this problem to the fact that with a podcast, there is no way to, help you track, measure, improve, and optimize podcast content and marketing because there are no analytics available as they would be for a regular website. On the other hand, he says that there are things you can do to help work around that challenge."Irresistible Bonus," "Call to Action Deafness," "Gamification," and "Pattern Interrupt," were completely new terms for me. But Ravi defines these very well and shows how to use the psychological principles involved to develop a formula for success. For me, gamification hit my hot button. Bottom line, I can't report any success yet because I haven't tried these things, but there seems to be great logical coherence to his approach. That characteristic, by itself, turns me on, so I can hardly wait to try it out.Of course, no matter how well-thought-out and applied, no formula can work if program content is a dud. Much depends on what your expectations are. Some content is just not going to get off the ground because nobody's interested in it. Well, maybe some people are interested, but not enough to make any difference to you in the long run. That's the problem with a narrow niche. On the other hand, if you are going to do a podcast just out of love and personal satisfaction, then probably the size of the niche doesn't matter. For somebody who measures success in terms of the level of monetization, though, the size of the niche becomes very important.Somewhat iconoclastically, Ravi says that, "maybe there is something to be said about consistency, rhythm of publishing, and getting your audience used to — and looking forward to seeing your episodes appear in their favorite podcast will great regularity on the same day, at about the same time" — "way too many broadcasters worry too much about frequency of their published episodes." Further, "… when you are trying to create your remarkable show, quality beats quantity any day. And "epic" beats "good" or even "great" all day, every day. Some of the biggest podcasts do not have a set schedule. … Yet [some of] these shows dominate the charts on Apple podcasts and other podcast directories."Ravi goes on to say that "the big lesson [to learn] … is Epic Episodes. More Marketing." If this is so, this will mean, among other things, monetary outlay for ads promoting your podcast. Ouch. "But if you treat your show like a business, then you know that you have to invest now so you can reap the benefits later." Essentially, the decision you have to make is whether you are a "Hobbyist" or an "Entrepreneur." Without letting the cat out of the bag, at the top of page 27 of the book, Ravi provides a link that will take you to some tips that will help you pay for those ads. On page 35, Ravi provides eight precursors to success, two of which are, having a "Killer Lead Magnet," and acquiring a relationship with your "1000 True Fans."It would be inappropriate for me to provide a precis of the book, so suffice it to say, there is a ton of information available in this e-book, valuable information, including many links available that will provide access to additional information. Considering the fact that I am a tyro in this area, and cannot, therefore, speak as an expert, I am still going to recommend to you that if you cannot get this book for free, it is certainly worth paying the $0.99 for it. Why? Because Ravi is quite honest when he says, "Every single chapter may not necessarily match your goals and priorities, so take what you can, tweak it, and make it your own.". Who knows, perhaps if you follow his advice you will become the next breakthrough Podcasting Star.

Ellen Forney is a gifted artist/cartoonist. She is completely open & honest in this book. Her drawings Vividly represent what it's like to be in the manic & the depressive ends of bipolar disorder--as well as the lucid times periods in between these attacks.She talks about the risky behaviors such as drug use, alcohol consumption. She admits to the hypersexuality, which affects most people (although mine is more in my mind, rather than acting it out---I was diagnosed with manic-depression at the late age of 45).It is impressive that she struggled through ("soldiered on" as my British mother-in-law would say) until finally (after Years) finding the right combinations of medications/exercise/activities/time alone/therapy that worked for her.She talks about fearing losing her creativity. She didn't. I did. I was an art major & received high marks & praise throughout my art studies from professors & other students. One professor said I was the "most creative student I've had in 30 years." But the medicaton took away my ability to draw & paint. I can still write & have had poetry published. But just so people know, some of us Do lose our creativity.Thank Heavens Forney didn't lose her talents, this book is a vivid description of what it's like to have bipolar disorder. It is filled with personal stories, data from studies, good books to read about the condition, a lot about famous artists/writers who had this illness (which I very much enjoyed).She, like I am, is a fan of Kay Redfield Jamison. Jamison is the PhD psychiatrist professor at Johns Hopkins who was hospitalized for psychosis during a manic attack while she was in med school. She went on to write many books about brain disorders.One wrong bit of data in the book: Sylvia Plath did not have ECT treatments "all her life." She had them after a suicide attempt while in college. They were administered improperly (not enough tranquilizers, too much electrical power) so that she was awake for the whole thing. She had vowed never to get ECT again & I believe that is part of the reason why she killed herself (there were many reasons, including the fact that she was put on anti-depressants, which can cause a person with manic-depression to go into an extreme mania).I wasn't real fond of the explicit sexual section but it's important for people to know that this type of behavior is part of the manic end of bipolar disorder.It's a complicated condition & Ms. Forney did a Brilliant job of work on this book

She is brutally honest and vulnerable about her pain, but she also explores the surprising gifts to be found within the pain. Some of the world's greatest artists and thinkers have struggled with various forms of mental illness--Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Sylvia Plath, and more. And, in some mysterious way, this also contributed to their creative genius. Forney asks the paradoxical question: "Is mental illness a curse, or is it actually a gift?" Perhaps, like so many things in this life, it is both! This book is a delightful example of how to find light in even the darkest of places.

I never thought anyone could understand exactly what I go through. This writer and cartoon illustrator changed that for me. I suffer from many mental health issues including OCD, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression and anxiety to name a few.I loved this book and even highlighted some of the sections that I relate to fully. Being 28 years old and carrying the burden of multiple mental disorders has, at times, left me exasperated. I've been on multiple antidepressants and anti anxiety medications since I was a child but this book alone has helped me in ways that a few psychotherapists and therapists have. I am not alone. I know that now and I'm so grateful for this book. It has pushed me into the right direction on how and where to seek help. Ellen Forney, I cannot thank you enough. You've saved me.

Ellen Forney's "Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, & Me", is a brave, funny and self-revealing work exploring how an artist can make peace with bipolar disorder without losing the creative spark. It has been called a graphic novel, and it even was selected for a list of "top graphic novels" compiled by Time Magazine, but its form is actually that of a memoir rather than a novel.Forney, a graphic artist working out of Seattle, opens her work with a tattoo technician inking her back. The big design, of Forney's making, embodies energy, transformation, joy, a whale, plumes of water, smoke, a skeleton, the spiritual connection with water, and other emanations of a manic epiphany she had experienced about one year earlier. The tattoo artist is taken aback when Forney--exultant at finishing the long session, and shirtless--swings around and lunges to kiss him, "tongue & all!"The next chapter relates Forney's first visit to a psychiatrist, shortly after the tattoo, who proposes a diagnosis of bipolar I disorder, DSM 296.4 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, published by the American Psychiatric Association), known in the past as "manic depression." With this exact sounding diagnosis (reminiscent of the Dewey Decimal System for library books), she contemplates a revised life, alternately as the alienation of a lunatic or the glory of artistic initiation into "Club Van Gogh." Her imaginary membership card in Club Van Gogh offered a "sense of heaviness...alleviated by a backhanded sense of cred" (caption: "ECCENTRIC! PASSIONATE! TORTURED! SCARY! DEADLY! FIRE! ICE! UNMOORED! UNBRIDLED! UNPREDICTABLE! DANGEROUS!").Forney lists almost innumerable distinguished creative persons with diagnosed or "probable" manic-depressive illness or major depression. Here are some of her examples: Artists: Gaugin, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Munch, O'Keefe, Rossetti, Pollack, Rothko. Poets: Blake, Byron, Coleridge, Dickens, T.S. Eliot, Poe, Sylvia Plath, Ezra Pound, Anne Sexton, Dylan Thomas, Whitman. Writers: Samuel Johnson, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Ibsen, Henry James, William James, Tolstoy, Tennessee Williams, Virginia Woolf and Mark Twain. Among manic depressives, the rates of attempted and successful suicide are appallingly high (see p. 44). Although Forney emphasizes artists, a number of great leaders have shown signs of serious mood disorder, including Lincoln and Churchill (Churchill called his depression "the Black Dog"). I also think of the great social scientist Max Weber, alternating between superhuman research and writing spurts and vegetative paralysis.Bipolar disorder is notoriously difficult to treat. Lithium [lithium carbonate, a salt], the oldest scientifically accepted pharmaceutical treatment, doesn't work for everyone, can cause lethargy, nasty acne and weight gain, and it carries a danger of acute liver damage that must be monitored by regular blood serum testing. Ms. Forney tried lithium, along with almost a pharmacy of alternative and adjutant medications, including Lamictal, Tegretol, Depakote, Nuerontin, Zyprexa and Klonopin.Ms. Forney's self-described bisexuality entails, in this rendition, numerous romps with her girlfriends, both straight and gay, as she acts out themes for her comic books, celebrates her thirtieth birthday and seduces a female yoga novice.An intriguing aspect of this memoir is the depiction of the psychiatrist-patient relationship. For a long time, Forney hides from her doctor her cannabis habit, which for her is more important than alcohol. She cherishes this connection with her beloved "stoner mother." When she finally reveals this use to her doctor, she feels guilty for having kept the secret but also unburdened.As Forney credibly shows, much great art is not merely a metaphor of extreme psychic states but often a direct expression of them. I was startled by Edward Munch's vivid diary entry of the experience that evoked his masterwork, "The Scream" (see p. 121 for the remarkable words).Forney's exercise regimen, including swimming, seems to give short-term relief at least. Yoga, recommended by her psychiatrist, offers some respite from anxiety and also insight. But the author brings out the trickiness, subtlety and seeming impermanence--and at the same time, apparent necessity--of the pharmaceutical treatment combination. She credits her psychiatrist with high intelligence, cunning and patience. She also finds support from her friends and parents, particularly her (lesbian) mother.If this book were a drama, it has elements of comedy, but the comic resolution is incomplete. The heroine comes away with new self-knowledge, achieved through quite a lot of suffering--understanding of herself and perhaps about many other artists past and present with whom she shares aspects of this malady. She has discovered that, at least for her, the lows but also the extreme highs of her disorder do not bring artistic productivity. By keeping her mood swings within a narrower ambit, she can continue her craft more regularly and fruitfully. But any such success is tactical, not strategic--more of a war of attrition than a clear-cut victory. The goal--hard fought for and elusive, but sometimes gratifyingly achieved--is balance. Her closing image is a self-portrait, with fluffy bathrobe, bedtime hair, toothbrush in hand and half-smile, and the caption, "I'm OK."In the graphic novel format, Forney has found an ideal form for telling her story. Samples of her drawings, undertaken during major depressive or manic episodes-- shared with the reader to convey her long dog-sled rides of sadness and Olympic ski take-off ramps of joy--express convincingly her underlying emotions.This highly original memoir moved me. The author enjoys indubitable gifts as a comic artist; she write unabashed; she wins over the reader, who roots for her unreservedly, despite all revealed breaches of decorum. This book would be of compelling interest to anyone diagnosed with bipolar disorder or major depression (and family/friends) but also to almost any person interested in human psychology or artistic creativity. After reading it, I found myself going back to savor some exceptional sections again. I learned Spanish over 20 years ago and didn't really expect much from the sheets I bought. Boy was I wrong!The presentation of this product is excellent and makes learning, or re- learning intuitive.The product is covered in a thick film so you don tap have to worry about anything spilling on it. It opens up once and has 6 pages and was a steal at the price. Also, it fits nicely on a notebook, but they are made so well you can just throw them in your car or carry them anywhere when you know you have a little while to read/study theseI definitely recommend. I also bought a great little paperback I used in college called "See it and say it in Spanish" by Margaruta Adrigal. If you want to go deeper into Spanish, I also suggest her boom " Madrigals's Magic key to Spanish"With these three items you will be speaking Spanish in no time.I hope this review helped you! Another side of Spanish is Verbs & their usages. At first, it seems difficult. After some time it all begins to make sense as you continue to learn the language basics. Verbs & their conjugation is likely the most difficult to learn to speak or write properly in Spanish. It can be done with some tenacity. Don't give up!Bought the entire series in Spanish by BarCharts to go along with the fun Fluenz Latin American Spanish Learning program (also recommend it).There are a number of them and all are great.They are all very good tools to use while learning or for quick 5 minute review sessions whilst anywhere.Rote learning along with conversational Spanish with native speakers is best.Plastic bonded is easy to keep clean.Durable for on the go travel.Love them for quick referencing when needed, especially while writing in Spanish language for guest blog posts not written in your native tongue.Highly recommend these learning tools.Like any tools, unused they become useless.Use them, you can become proficient in the language you wish to learn.Use it or lose it and the same is held true for languages.Please pardon the same review for all the BarCharts. As part of her foreign language lessons, my daughter is translating the Spanish version of Harry Potter back into English and this handy little chart helps her attack those quite confusing Spanish verb tenses much more confidently. As with all great learning aids, she turns to it less and less as the lessons sink in!

I bought this in the bundle of 3 and keep it in the front of my Spanish class notebook as a quick and handy reference. It obviously does not have everything one needs to learn a language, but it does hit many important words, rules, and conjugations. It is nicely laminated and I feel that I will use it often in my studies of the Spanish language.

These Quick Study Guides seem like well-made cheat sheets. I know: you're already sold, so I'll keep it short. Buy any in the series that seem to fit your needs. They're study, jampacked with informacion util, and logically arranged. Soon you'll be in Mexico ordering pollo y arroz instead of a blue tree and meth. As always, you're welcome.

I bought this when I bought the Latin American Spanish Rosetta Sone and it really helps. There are three pages front/back of useful information. I wish I would've had this back when I was taking spanish in high school. Also it is fully laminated and neat!

It's been helpful for my Spanish studies, but it has a LOT of information on it. Organization is good once you get used to it.
